Our new web experience: built for active traders
Smarter. Faster. More information at a glance. Here’s how we upgraded the Wealthsimple web experience for active traders — and why.

At Wealthsimple, we’re all about helping Canadians achieve financial freedom with the smartest, most intuitive tools out there. And every day, we work to make them even better. Today, we're excited to roll out an updated experience for web that’s faster, easier to use, and optimized for how active traders actually invest — without messing with the tools you depend on most.
What’s new
- Smarter layout and navigation. We slimmed down our menu and moved it to the side to give traders more space to focus on what matters. In it, you’ll also see a new holdings icon — meaning your current positions are never more than a click away — plus a pending orders widget so you never waste time digging around to find them.
- More information at a glance. Charts now expand naturally to fit your screen, which means that larger displays show more columns all at once. The upshot? Less horizontal scrolling, less hunting around, and more context in a single view.
- Added customization and control. We’ve added customizable views (like what data columns you want to see, and in what order) and the ability to trade directly from advanced charts — both designed to cut friction and boost control.
- Hotkeys for seamless trading. Shopping for securities? Type / to open the search bar and start typing in a ticker or company name. From there, you can move through the entire trading flow without ever touching your mouse. Shortcuts like these make a big difference when you’re moving fast.
- Cleaner look and feel. Last but not least, we made a few design tweaks to make it easier for traders to scan webpages and process information quickly, including a new custom font that’s more readable, and a more refined colour palette with improved contrast and visual balance.
Why we made these changes
In a word, speed. Because when it comes to trading, timing is everything. With a faster and more responsive interface, we've made it easier for traders to review holdings and execute orders without losing a single moment. And it’s not just a refresh: this new architecture will make it easier to let us keep optimizing as we roll out new products.
What hasn't changed
No features have been dropped and everything you rely on is still there — we’ve just made things quicker to find, easier to use, and more enjoyable overall. Where things have moved around a bit, it's only because we found a more logical home for them.
Keeping the bar high
We think you’ll love the new Wealthsimple experience for web. It’s faster, easier to navigate, and built for active traders. With $0 commissions on stocks and ETFs, $0 options contracts, and margin rates lower than at any Canadian bank (as low as 3.95%), Wealthsimple remains the smartest place to trade — and we'll never stop working to make our platform even better.
